Economic Impacts of Population Ageing and Related Challenges

Aim and Scope:

This Special Issue explores the economic and social consequences of population ageing.
It welcomes research on labour markets, pension systems, healthcare, public finances, and policy responses to demographic change.

Contributions may examine productivity, consumption and saving patterns, intergenerational transfers, long-term and informal care, migration, and regional economic development. The issue also addresses older workers, labour shortages, the silver economy, and technological solutions supporting ageing societies, aiming to identify strategies for adapting institutions, services, and economic structures to changing population needs.

Theoretical, empirical, comparative, and policy-oriented contributions are invited at national, regional, and international levels.
